I am a Sydney based sculptor and have been sculpting for nearly 2 decades having studied sculpture under the tuition of several locally renown sculptors such as Tom Bass, Margueritte Derricourt, Ingrid Morley and Dave Horton. I have a design background, starting my career as a landscape architect (B.L.Arch UNSW) and for a short time, as an interior designer (cert. Int. Design, SIDA).
I have exhibited extensively and worked on private commissions and more recently, on several public art commissions. I enjoy the challenge of a new brief, whether it be the client’s brief or from my own inspiration. It brings me to explore different media and ways of of creating. Some of the themes central to my work have been on one’s inner strength, memories and how important they are to our being & emotions. I have explored how music can trigger a memory of a time past and how connections/relationships can colour our world.
I work in many different media and my works often present as organic forms or stylised works with clean lines.
I am a long standing member of both The Sculptors Society and the Workshop Arts Centre.
